Alright first of all for this guide you will need a private server.Im suggesting the following links :

If you MUST host your private server on your computer here are some stuff you
might want -
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] - Here a nice program that puts your server on the TaskBar,This WILL REDUCE your computers lag by ALOT!

Some recommended Firewalls are:
ZoneAlarm - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Norton Personal Firewall - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
McAfee Firewall - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
An Antivirus is your clean up tool. If your hacker gets in and implants his programs to do his bidding, this is your only way to clean up what he has dumped on your harddrive.
Some recommended Anti-virus's are:

AVG - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Nod32 - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Kaspersky - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
These are great for picking up known viruses, i suggest using more than one.

If you do NOT want to host your own website heres somthing that you can do.
You will need a website host (not freewebs) that has php enabled. I recommend Freehostia. Then open your mysql manager program and make a new user. Give the new user all privileges and make his host %. The user and pass can be whatever you want. Then in the config file for your website put the hostname as your external ip.

User is the username you made and pass is the pass you made. Database name is logon.
Now just upload the files to freehostia or your php host and you've done it!
All you need to do is keep Mysql Running and you have a free FULLY working website for your server!
Now if you want your server updated for the newest patch and ascent,arc emu,ect core rivsion then heres a guide -
Either compile the newest ascent,arc emu core/revision or download a premde copy [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] ( You will need to register to see it ) the poster of that thread releases the latest Arc Emu Revisions.
Just download it and copy and paste it over your old ones ( not the configs of course ).
