Need help sorry is this seems dumb, wanted to set up a server to see what it is like and maybe have a few friend on it.
Did the following
1. open MySQL.bat
2. open ascent-world
3. open ascent-logonserver
tried to log into wow but it keeps trying to connect to blizzard server i know i must have missed something but not sure what it is any ideas guys.

i dont know how u got yours to work that far...non of my comps will run it and i dont know why... anyways in your world of warcraft directory you have a file names realmlist.wtf open it with word or notepad and where is says "set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com" you need to change this to say "set realmlist 127.0.0.1"

let me know if this fixes the problem have fun i wish someone would help me ;(

ascent world and logon Configuration Is Wrong you configed them Wrong

I'm trying to set my server up for a LAN. When my friends try to log on, it sits at "Success" then if you hit cancel, it will sit at "Retrieving Realm List" or something. It will not move. Yes, I've restarted the programs to try and fix it.

ascent-realms.conf

<LogonServer Address = "192.168.1.XXX"
             Port = "8093"
             Name = "Logon"
             RealmCount = "1">

<Realm1 Name = "XXXXXXXXXXX"
        Address = "192.168.1.XXX:8129"
        Icon = "Normal"

And yes it's port forwarded. (Are the ports necessary)
Realmlist-"set realmlist 192.168.1.XXXX:8129"

I have tried running ascent-world with and with out the mysql.bat open and neither makes a difference. When i try to run ascent-logonserver.exe its wont even open just gives me another error. Assumable B/C the ascent-world.exe wont run right. If someone could please help me it would greatly appreciated. If anyone needs a complete breakdown of errors I will upload the pictures just request.

P.S. I tried this on vista first and wouldnt work either.

I have the same problem btw I got it working once ;P but when I restarted my computer the error came up again
