Hello, below i will list some common problems in making a Ascent server!



1. Why can't my friends can't connect to my server? Were using hamachi and i followed every single guide!

Disable your firewall! If you already did and the problem persists, try look in your taskmanager for any firewall processes, and just go ahead close them.



2. Why does the game freezes when i log on your character?

You need to update your World of Warcraft Client!



3. Can't launch Ascent.exe, World.exe or Logonserver.exe?

You did something wrong in the .config files or you got a wrong version of Ascent, try using a previous version of Ascent, and if that dont do it, check your config files so you did everything correctly!

Meh, I have made a lot of servers. Could never get them connected. Followed every guide. Disabled firewall. Forwarded ports. Everything.

Could never get it public through DynDns.

i can run the logon and ascent part fine but when i try and logon it stops at handshaking

saris123, are you sure you got the right version of wow for the repack? and what repack are you using? what guide have you followed?

im using mafiaboy's guide and all the files included in that guide mysql 5.0 and navicat 8

Hey try to go into your Logon.config file and it should say this:

<Client MinBuild = "xxxxx"
MaxBuild = "xxxxx">

try to change this to:

<Client MinBuild = "1111"
MaxBuild = "9999">

because you got Patch 2.4 and have a 2.3.x repack or There is a 2.4 repack and you got 2.3.3,, i guess you got 2.4

Yeah i got a problem when i add objects or portals they arnt there after the server restarts or w/e cud u tell me how to make them Save in place so they never go?? thx.

Of course I've got Ascent problems...
When I do the release-F7-thing this is what comes up:

And yeah, I do have the windows libraries, just doesn't seem like it finds them. Tried placing them everywhere, in program files, just on D:\ and all that...

yeah.. i'm trying to compile my own ascent server, and I get a error message.

Error 1 fatal error LNK1181: cannot open input file '.\ascent-voicechat__2005_release\ConfigReader.obj' ascent-voicechat


anyone know how to resolve? I couldn't find anything in the forums.
