would using vista make a difference?
You need to run WPE PRO and PermEdit as administrator (right-click their shortcuts/program EXE's and click Run as administrator) Then WoW.exe should show up.

It DID work some months ago, when this was new. Look at the starting date, its may. This exploit didn't last public even a day when ascent released a fix so NOBODY CAN EVER DO IT AGAIN. And here we are now, August 6th, with lazy people like you who doesn't even read the first or last page of the topic and realize that it was stated a hundred times now that this doesn't work anymore. Its patched now, don't even bother trying it.
