They are back open, and will continue development under new leadership from the developer of ChampEmu. Open-Ascent is recruiting C++ and SQL developers for their team for the database and core.

Why can't people merge with existing projects? Like 6 cores to choose from, instead of 1 or 2. We'd be so much further ahead in the emu scene if people curbed their egos and worked together on 1 core. :/

From what i know, Soulstone emu was a private project of so dude, then i assume he changed it to champemu for this server ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]). Seems like they made a ChampDB to.

Why did they name this Open-Ascent?
I know that the real Open-Ascent was called that because Burlex was going to make the summit emu and not release the source code. Hence the name "Open"-Ascent. Then later Burlex made summit only for WoW-Scape, and Open Ascent failed in a month because the project leader.... (Whats his name) left to help Burlex with summit. Then the rise of Arcemu came.
