Evening everyone, I've been speaking with a few folks and wanted to explain to everyone what exactly ArcEmu is and how it plays a roll in your life. This thread is not meant as a recruitment thread, just as an informative thread.
About us:
Arc was formed in response to the closure of AscentEmu and the departure of Burlex to his new emulator Summit.
At first there was OpenAscent orginally run by Trelorn, things did not work out so the developers and I decided to migrate to a new forum and website, we then renamed the project to Arc; ArcEmu where we continue to work on bettering the emulator. While I am the project manager, I do not make all the decisions for the emulator.
Ascent is an MMORPG emulator written in C++ and uses a MySql database to extract data from which includes, accounts, characters, items ect. It was built to be very "light-weight" and expandable, and thus we have lua and c++ expansions not built directly into the core allowing for better flexibility The emulator will technically run without the DBC files and Maps but you will not be able to hold players on that realm because those are "required files"

We would like to band the communities together and bring the users the best emulator and content possible thus we have created not just a new branch of the emulator but a commnity in which we invite you all to join.
In coherence with MMOwned your #1 resource for Model edits, Bots, guides, hacks, exploits, private server emulation guides, AoC resources and much more!
If anyone has any questions regarding the project, or anything that is unclear to them regarding why we broke off or anything I will be glad to answer ever question accordingly.

And to correct you on one of your above statements, I ran OpenAscent and I continue to run ArcEmu so it is not based off of OpenAscent, we are the OpenAscent team, less Trelorn.
