I keep getting "An error occured trying to install this application. See the setup log file located at 'C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Temp\VSD2B4A.tmp\install.log' for more information.Any solution?

I'm having a problem with my "database". Whenever I start the restarter, and it runs the realmsd and mangos.exe, it says"access denied" for both. The readme states to replace root:mangos with your MySQL password; I don't know if this is the problem. Please help.

YOU NEED TO HAVE MySQL INSTALLED ON YOUR COMPUTER! - BY DEFAULT ALL CONF FILES ARE CONFIGURED WITH LOGIN: root AND PASSWORD: mangos - IF YOU HAVE SOME OTHERS LOGIN & PASSWORD FOR MYSQL, REMEMBER TO RE-DO THE STEP 2 & 3 

1/ Installing [Repack] MaNGOS WotLK Repack 3.0.1.8471/8472

• Run WotLK MaNGOS Test Server (3.0.1.8471).exe
• Let it connect to the internet & download & install MaNGOS WotLK Repack 3.0.1.8471/8472
• In Startup Menu/MaNGOS WotLK, click on Install All DataBases.
  * Follow the prompt
  * Enter your login & password for mysql
  * Wait the end of process
• In Startup Menu/MaNGOS WotLK, click on Check Update (wait the end of process).
  * Follow the prompt
  * Enter your login & password for mysql
  * Wait the end of process

* You can Backup your DataBases before install.
* You can Install all DataBases provided.

2/ Configuring your Mangos server settings

By default for all, the login is root and the password is mangos.

• In your C:\Program Files\MaNGOS WotLK folder open mangosd.conf.
• Find

  127.0.0.1;3306;root;mangos;realmd
  

  and change the text (root;mangos) to your MySQL password.
• Find

  127.0.0.1;3306;root;mangos;mangos
  

  and change the text (root;mangos) to your MySQL password.
• Find

  127.0.0.1;3306;root;mangos;characters
  

  and change the text (root;mangos) to your MySQL password.

3/ Configuring your Mangos and scriptdev2 realm settings...

By default for all, the login is root and the password is mangos.

• In your C:\Program Files\MaNGOS WotLK folder open realmd.conf.
• Find

  and change the text (root:mangos) to your MySQL password.
• In your C:\Program Files\MaNGOS WotLK folder open scriptdev2.conf.

4/ Launch the Restarter which will Start realmd.exe and mangosd.exe

5/ Creating a new account name

• In mangosd.exe dos window, press enter to get a mangos> prompt and type

• create accountname password
  

  (change accountname and password to the name & password you want to use).

• setgm accountname 3
  

  (If you want to allow the account access to GM commands).

replace root:mangos with your MySQL password

root:mangos    =    login:password

Hmm when I did Install Updates it just flashed a small screen in a sec, and Check Update didn't do anything. Ugh I'm sorry I'm new with MySQL

I managed to fix the problem . I had put in my MySQL password a little incorrectly. Last thing I ask is how do you enable Burning Crusade? Cause I can't make any Blood Elves or Draenei, and Outland isn't reachable. And yes that picture you showed flashes for a second and then goes away. I'm using Windows XP.

If you use the tools provided and the databases provided with this repack, TBC is enable on all acount created

So thanks to davidc95 but normally with this repack, you don't need to do:

setbc account <account name> 1

Please try this:

• Download [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
• Extract it into C:\Program Files\MaNGOS WotLK\Setup
• Copy it (CHOICE.COM) and paste it into C:\Program Files\MaNGOS WotLK\contrib\DBT
• Launch the Install All DataBases then Check Update and tell me please is you have the same error related to 'CHOICE.COM' is not recognized....

Install Databases and Check Updates worked with that program, but now my mangos.exe won't run completely.

EDIT: Fixed mangos.exe by executing mangos batch file into mangos database.

Yup everything was straightforward.

As for the EDIT, my mangos database in Navicat was empty, so I went into my Mangos folder ,found the database file and executed, or imported, it into the mangos database, which fixed the problem.

• (1)Install it
• (2)On startup Menu/Click on Install All DataBases

* Enter your MySQL LOGIN & PASSWORD
* Enter your DataBases names
* Wait the end of process

If you have a problem with the Tool and the windows open and close immediatly (error related to 'CHOICE.COM' is not recognized....)

(3)Please try this:
* Download [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
* Extract it into C:\Program Files\MaNGOS WotLK\Setup
* Copy it (CHOICE.COM) and paste it into C:\Program Files\MaNGOS WotLK\contrib\DBT

• At the end, open Navicat/SysLog
• Try to connect to your DataBases (with same LOGIN & PASSWORD you have enter on the prompt of Installer)
• (4)Look if you see your DBs (mangos, characters, realmd, scriptdev2)
• (5)Click on mangos DB and look if you see some tables
  
  
• Go to C:\Program Files\MaNGOS WotLK

(6)Open CHANGELOG.txt, and see that
