Mysql big problem

Hey I forgot my root password since iv had many sql servers over the years and now I can make anymore without them asking for one. Now I cant figure it out and when I follow the tutorials on how to reset your root password I get lost or it doesn't work.
Can someone please help me out this is really starting to piss me off.

U can always reïnstall ur mysql that should work.

i have a simpler way. if you compiled u might have to compile mysql again. if you use a repack, find the repack you downloaded (usually a in a zip folder) and then navigate to the server folder, open mysql folder
then data folder
then replace the mysql folder with the new one. this also works with the user tables in the mysql folder u can replace those as well. just note that it might give u a little mysql error that says "user.mdy is incorrect, reverting to default" <-- idk if thats exactly right but its nothing major, just means its reverting to root/ascent.

Give that a shot with the mysql folder first (Remember to always make backups)
