That is stupid, that breaks the tradition of blizzard games, Battle.net has always been free, and should be free, the game isn't an MMO, and shouldn't be treated like one, it just needs to make money by the original purchase, and the purchase of an expansion.

I believe that the reason for the supposed "p2p" mentality is really for a Battle.NET 2.0 (Or whatever they're calling it). But either way, it's the same thing really.

But of course, I'd pay for it. I always liked that Diablo was free to play, but that may soon change with D3. It's not changing the fact that I'm pre-ordering that baby ASAP.

NO! D3 should stay the same as D2, but with the new graphics and playstyle it'll be awesome.

Of course you should want to pay. That money goes towards servers, new contents, fixing, security etc. There is no reason for you to want your game to be shitty.
