LoooooooooooooL ! This sh1t doesn't work at official servers...
The method of duplication with the lag is too old and too known! I was one of the first persons to duplicate items in the old role play game T4C (The Fourth COming) there is well and beautiful 7-8 years!
It is simple, the server do not take charges the modified data of them. But I think that with the last patch, blizz do its saves better!

are you playing on a private server with hack-patch?
then just copy the wow.exe in a new folder before you start installing the hack patch.
after install copy the wow.exe back to the wow-folder and happy hacking
