Re: The REAL BottomFeeder - 02-27-2007

Issacobra, I'm getting an error... any suggestions?

Code:
Date: 2007-02-26 23:23:22
ID: 55
Error occured in: Global
Count: 1
Message: ..\AddOns\BtmFeed\btmMain.lua line 127:
attempt to call field 'mod' (a nil value)
Debug:
   [C]: mod()
   BtmFeed\btmMain.lua:127:
      BtmFeed\btmMain.lua:73
The /btm command doesn't work unless you remove the Bottom Scanner and replace it with Bottom Feeder, but /bottomfeeder at least brings up the parameters.

Attempting a /bottomfeeder dryrun simply results in it saying that it's scanning... am I missing anything here? (and yes, the AH window is open)

What does it do for you? Does it buy items on its own? And does it do this on a Blizzard server?

Re: The REAL BottomFeeder - 03-05-2007

I sincerely doubt issacobra has gotten bottomfeeder to work again. It did work, it did buy out go deals on its own and it did make me a lot of gold. But the reason it doesnt work anymore is the update Blizzard made to the API, making it impossible for addons to buy stuff off of the AH without a user doing anything.

If issacobra had found a way to make addons do something that Blizzard dont want them to do, good for him. But I cant get it to work.

Bottomscanner is a great tool, but it wont autobuy good deals

Yes but for that to happen you would have to get cought by either detection or report and in the case of this addon , i doubt you could get cought unless you use somekind of 3rd party software to run along with it .

Re: The REAL BottomFeeder - 03-10-2007

This is a very very simple fix, just use 2 different programs. It's easy, just simply setup regular old bottom scanner so that it FINDS the deals, not actually buys them. Then setup just a simple macro script that watches a certain location... where the buyout button appears when it finds a deal. When the macros senses the red color of the button, it automatically buys it. Easy enough right???

Yeah, it is. But that can get you banned. You're using a bot. The beauty of Bottomfeeder (when it worked) was that it didn't break any rules. It used the tools Blizzard had made available. All you had to do was walk by your comp and pressing jump once in a while to keep from going offline.

Hmm, I don't know if it could get you banned. And even then, it would simply appear to Blizzard that you are using bottomscanner and just buying things. There is really no way to tell that you aren't the one clicking the button. I mean its not really a "bot" as bots are usually referred to as more complex programs doing more tedious tasks with multiple steps. This is just click...click...click...click. Which I doubt it traceable or even if it was, bannable.

No addon alone can get you banned.

Using an addon to exploit can get you banned.

I am not sure if this falls under that catagory.

I wanst suggesting that using Bottomscaner can get you banned. I was saying that if you use a program to click the buy-stuff button, you are breaking the rules.
