Great guide, tnx. No problem to set it up to work on non-public. But when I'm trying to fix it to public, I have some problems, here is a screen.

I got a question about what the internet supplier thinks aobut hosting a server, is it against their terms? I got this one called Telia (search on google for them to read) . If you are from Sweden or can read swedish, feel free to read and try to figure it out, IF YOU NOT, dont even mind to read it.

I heard that some suppliers can "ban" you if they find it out, and these words have come from my fathers mouth, and he kinda working with it -.- So I trust him mostly.

ok i got to step 8 but it says

Access Denied fr user 'root'@'localhost'[using password: YES]

it then says stuff about a firewall and make a port so i went into that made a port
i got the port number but duno what name 2 put in =s i tried loads of stuff but it still comes up with the same error any 1 plz plz help me much appreciate it


Edit: now that i went back to try it again at step 6 were u have thename MySQL it wont let me pick that 1 and says

A windows service with the name MySQL already exists.Please uninstall this service correctly or choose a diffrent name for the new service

......need major help great if u can help thanks

i dont have any logonserver.conf or realms.conf :S i´ve downloaded picos pack from the filebeam link :S anyone who can upload just thoose 2 files?

When I'm tryinf to start the server when I have maked it public the ascent.exe stop works and has to restarts. And the logonserver.exe just restarts and restarts and restarts and over and over again what is the problem ????

Greetings, it seams like I got the same problem as many people in this thread, when I start the server then the logonserver keeps restarting and the ascent keeps "stop working"

The server worked yesterday, so I thought I would look on the things i changed since then.

*Made some items with the AscentDBEditor
*Made some accounts so some friends could play
*Changed the IP on the host from no-ip. com

A friend told me I had to use the IP from my computer and not from the network, since it only worked on the lan network.

Computer IP: 89.150.88.70
Network IP: 192.168.2.1

I tryed to change back the IP, but no effect, i also tryed to creat a new host, but that had no effect either.

My Logon and Ascent.conf files looks fine to me, maybe you can spot whats wrong?

Remember to add three w's before all the url's

try changing the database names from: ascentlogon to charachter
and
ascent to world
in the ascent.conf and the logonserver.conf.
I know I ran into a problem like that and that fixed it. i hope this helps you and anyothers with a similar problem.
