To make Custom Vendors you must first download Ascent Database Editor [ADE]. You can download this program from the link below. (This is my first guide so don't be to harsh!) I will be adding how to make custom weapons soon.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

First, start up your server and open your Ascent Database Editor. Fill in the correct information [Should be almost identical to your SQL data]. Click Proceed. If you get an error saying “Your database is not compatible and must be updated manually” (Or a similar message) close your ADE and re-open it. But this time click “Disable Compatibility Tester”. Once it is done loading you should get a screen that looks like this.


Okay, know for the Guide.

1) You must first make your NPC’s Entry ID. This display must be unique. I suggest you make it a high number such as 90000 so the ID is almost guaranteed not to be taken.

2) Secondly, make your NPC’s name; it can be whatever you like. The column is located to the right of the Entry ID slot.

3) This step is optional; you can make a sub-name for your NPC. Its just like a guild name so be creative!

4) Chose your NPC’s “Type” I prefer humanoids for Vendors. If you want to try something cool, make it a beast so you can tame it on your hunter! So you could have a pet that looks like Illidan if you want .

5) This is an optional step; you can chose you’re NPC “Family”. Like spiders, boars etc…

6) This is another optional step; Chose your NPC’s ranking. You can make your NPC and elite, rare and other cool stuff.

7) Now for the fun part! Chose your creatures Display ID! The display ID changes your NPC’s model file. To find the creatures Display ID click on the and search your favorite creature.

Click choose!
As you can see if you chose Illidan, Illidan’s display ID is 21135.

8) Copy the Display ID you entered into the Male Display ID and paste it into the Female Display ID.

9) Enter your NPC’s level. It can be whatever you like!

10) *Tip* you don’t have to change your NPC’s Mana or Health if you are making a vendor, but if your making a creature I advice you do.

11) This is an important step; you must chose your NPC’s flag. Just hover your mouse over the white box and click the flag suitable for your NPC. Am choosing flag 128 [Vendor] since my NPC is going to be a vendor!


12) Chose your NPC’s faction, just pick one from the roll down menu. If you want the NPC to be allied with horde choose the Horde faction, and vise versa for alliance.

13) Type in your NPC’s respawn time, I highly suggest you edit this because the default is 36000 seconds!

14) Click the Button in the top right hand corner of your screen. And chose a pathway folder.

15) Click the button And you should get this message

Congratulations! You made a custom NPC! Restart your server and spawn your NPC using the .npc spawn [Entry ID]

I tried it but some how it doesnt work. It just give me an error saying:

What databse do you use? Try using the export button then press update..

I tried using export then update and i'm still getting that error. I am using Ascent 2.4 Stable r2409/Release-Win-X86 (using repack by Mafiaboy)

Yeah, unfortunatly I cant help you with this issue. I tried over and over again to replicat that message but i had no luck,

To add items, can't you just go in-game and click on the vendor and type
.npc vendoradditem (Item ID?)

Yes you could, but this is telling you how to make your own vendor to put items in instead of using an existing one.

I tried to export it but when i click Export it says "No NPC found with this ID."

If its says No NPC found with this ID that means your Display ID for male and female is wrong. If you dont understand on how to get the correct Display ID click on the little ... Box beside the male and female display ID, and search for the creature you want as your Model. If you ever spawned illidan, the spawn code is 22917 this is not a display ID, in order to get the display ID in game just type .npc info on your select creature.

but wait a minute... i did click the "..." button and chose and ID and copied the ID from the male into the Female one!

Okay, i tried using the nether dragon ID and i got the same error message. You just have to use a different display ID
