How do I find the map files that go into the map folder?
One suggested to me that I compile ad.exe from the extras folder in ArcEmu and just put it into my WoW Folder but I don't know how to compile it... any tips? Or is there an easier way of getting the files?
sjn2009, you can move ad.exe from the ArcEmu to your WoW folder, create a new folder called "maps" in your WoW folder, then run ad.exe. It will compile the maps into the "maps" folder (this usually takes awhile). Once it is done you can simply copy the files from the "maps" folder and paste them in your "maps" folder in your ArcEmu folder!
I'm stuck on step 5, where are the conf files and how do we edit them. Great guide though.
You should actually already have the config files. They come premade for ya All you need to do is open them up with notepad or your simpletext editor of choice and make the changes Moon highlighted.
So... stupid noobie question here. It seems that every melee item I seem to find is totally broken. All I do is miss, and looking at their stats they all have like 1.$ DPS listed. I've redownloaded the WhyDB database, wiped the old one clean, reinstalled it, and it just seems that the latest version of WhyDB is junk. I've snagged a copy of NCDB but have yet to be able to get it to work. I ran the .sql batch and installed it as a new DB, pointed my config at it instead of WhyDB and I when I try to enter the world with a toon is says login failed. Looking at the tables, things are a little different so I'm figuring I need to convert the NCDB using the webinstaller but I can't for the life of me get it to work. I've found what claim to be preconverted copies of NCDB for arcemu but they all have like 6 tables in them, so are obviously missing quite a bit.
So, am I doing something totally wrong here with WhyDB? is this melee miss thing normal? Can that be fixed without changing DBs? Help <3

Alright, so I've edited my config files and I've done all of the steps. When I run Arcemu-world and Arcemu-logonserver, I get error messages, I have a feeling it's something stupid or simple. Can anybody tell me where I went/am going wrong?
The error message for them both is: "E MySQL Database: Connection failed due to: 'Unknown MySQL server host 'host' <11001>'"

Well, I'd be willing to bet you've got the wrong host name in your configs. You should have "localhost" instead of "host".
I don't have a file called ad.exe though... I have: ad.ncb, ad.sln, ad.suo, ad.vcproj, adt.cpp, adt.h
So how do I get ad.exe?
I got [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] with Johved's repack (which I wasn't very impressed with, hence me going the build your own route) and it worked like a charm for me!
How many map files are there supposed to be? Because I got an error on or after Map_556.bin
CMD said something about netherstorm :S and Gruul's lair being completed.
I'll wait for a response before I start up ad.exe again and mess something up :O

I've got 119 files totally 1.45g on disk in my maps folder.
I think that may have even been the same map that people had issues with before in that other thread. It might be worth running repair.exe and then trying ad.exe again. Having not seen how ad.exe behaves on an error yet to know the answer to this, did it allow you to continue with the process, or did it halt on the error? If it just skipped that map I can throw you mine as well. It's only 1024k. I'm suspecting though that you're going to have significantly less then 119 files in your maps folder...

I have this problem too. >.< Tried a bunch of stuff...remaking the databases, searching through every file to see if I had made a bad edit...every time it just disconnects me when I hit "Create Character".
