Today I will show you what you need for a WoW funserver!
First of all you will need a private server.(Its recommended that you have the latest NCDB and the latest OpenAscent Revision or w/e emu you are using.
Rates : First off you need to set your servers rates.Open up your ascent.config file and find the stats section.You can set the gold rate,experience rate,health generation,skill rate,power,ect. (Its recommended that you do not set everything to high so everyone is not over powered.
Custom NPC's : Now lets get into the server.Lets say for example somone makes a new charecter they don't know what to do.You can make a custom "Welcome NPC" that tells them what to do,ect.Also you would want/need extra npc's like Gold,mall vendors,a teleport/warp npc.But we will do that after.
Custom Mall : Like every funserver you would need a mall to get armor,weapons,trinkets,rings,ect.To make this mall you need to deciede if its a horde,alliance,nuetral,or pvp mall.The location of this mall depends on your decision above.Once you find the location of the mall you need to add some Gobjects,vendors,ect.
Custom Instances : Players like custom stuff like custom instances.Once again you need to choose a location of the instance.I would highly recommend choosing a cave or den like the one by doing .recall port gm2.Theres a cave right by there. You would need to make custom mobs like above like mobs,bosses,ect.Also custom quests and a story behind the entire instance.(We'll get to the quests later)
Custom Quests : Now after making a custom instance.You would need to make custom quests.A custom quest would need a name ( of course ) recommend that the name connects to the instance.Next the body of the quest needs to connect to the instance ( of course lol ) like a story or w/e.And the reward would also have to connect to the instance.
Custom Events : Like every server people like doing events to keep them from being bored.You can do races,or use your imagination.You can use gobjects,quests,npc's,ect just make it fun an easy/hard.Some people like doing stuff the easy way others the hard way.
Custom Armor and Weapons : And yes like other servers people like custom armor and weapons.People like custom armor sets like class sets and tier gear like Tier 1,2,3,4,5,6 and custom Tier 7,8,9,10,ect!Also if you want people to donate its recommended that you make some sets of "Donator Gear".
Custom Starting Zone : When people create a new charecter in WoW its normal to log in,in there race's starting zone,But if you create a custom starting zone for horde and alliance,people well think "OMG WHERE AM I?NEW ZONE!THIS IS THE BEST SERVER EVERRR!" lol maybe not like that but they will think this pretty cool.Maybe more starting zones for each races.
Accounts : This would be recommended for donators.If they have donated you could set there GM level to whichever GM level you would think would be best.
Teleporter/Warp NPC : Like every privater server you will ever be in unless its blizzlike.it will have a Teleporter/Warp NPC.The only way to get one of these is if you compile one your self or if you have a premade one ( compiled by somone else ).
