hey! in this guide i'm going to tell you how you get programmer and desinger island working at your server.

ok u need to do 2 things one in your database and making sure u won't get a eror when you teleport to the islands.

btw this is my first guide i hope you like it.



in database:

go to you database (i use navicat) and go to worldportmap_info table.
add a new line and type in the entery and screenid "451" and make the area_name programmer island. the rest just copy from the line above.
because the 2.4 database is a bit different from the 2.3 database it might be easyer for you to just add this to the database:

INSERT INTO `worldmap_info` VALUES ('451', '451', '0', '100', '1', '0', '0', '0', '0', 'programmer island', '3', '0', '0', '0', '0', '0', '0', '100', '0');

in WoW folder:

now you need to dowload this file and put it in
C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Data

dowload the file here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]



note: if your server is public all your members need this file to get at programmer and desinger island if they don't have it they will get a error.

ok how do you go to this place? is it set as a recall already?

not all the server has a recall to it most of them has programmer island
.recall port programmerisland

but here are the worldports
programmer island: 451 16304.2 16318.1 69.44
desinger island: 451 16303.5 -16173.5 40.4365

So fuzzard took it out of the game files or did they corrupt it?
If so this brings up a theory that they have different clients for GMs/Devs

no i think they removed it from the game, but i think the file is from befor the islands were deleted

Does it matter what the other things are.
451, 451 and programmer island - can the other things be anything at all?

1. The Patch was made wrong it's important that it is .MPQ with caps in the end now

2. I put the file in data folder

3. The file is alrdy there in DB

And when i tryed to get there it come to loading screen then an erro pops up saying Unable to load (File path for prog island and that)

Same here.

It seems to ask for a file to be in the WoW/Data driectory. A file called "development.wdt"

I tried google-ing this, and I can't find anywhere to download it... I'm guess it's not possible. I also found more people with this problem, but they were using MaNGOS. I figured it could be different.

If I find this file we have to have, I'll send another reply in. But for now, I have a character to fix. :P

This is my final answer. It's impossible to get into Programmer Island, unless you're using MaNGOS.

If you're using ascent, you can't get into Prog Island or Dev Island.

The maps, from ad.exe, are maps taken from the MPQ files. It would seem that development island is not included. This is because the map is no longer in the game directory, therefore not in the game itself. Prog Isle and Dev Isle got deleted in 2.3 because normal players were seen there when they weren't meant to be there. Blizzard thought that if people can get there, the map should no longer be used. In this same patch, GM Island got copied to a seperate map to act like an instance because of a similar reason.

My point is, you can't insert it simply like that. You have to have the map in the WoW folder. The folder I refer to, doesn't exist. It all got moved to another folder, and these files got converted.
