[Guide] Rip model IDs from creature gear -
03-23-2008
Hey peeps second real post here on mmowned
today Im going to show you how to take NPC's gear display ID's and turn them into gear for you or your players. (ascent antrix and mangos)
First you need MyWarcraftStudio.
WoW model viewer helps too but isnt really needed.
Find a picture of what you will be adding as a item display ID.
For example im going to take my thread of Archmage Arugal's Shoulderpads. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
I did exactly what is in this guide to get their display ID
How to find NPC's clothing ID's?
Well heres how
Open MyWarcraftStudio
Open Patch.mpq in the data folder of warcraft
Go to ITEM\OBJECTCOMPONENTS\
Click the name of what type of gear you are looking for
Look for the picture of the item that matches yours, in the case of shoulders it will be one shoulderpad only BUT when you get finished here it will be both left and right.
Now that you have found your picture write down its name
Open patch-enUS.MPQ
Go to DBClientFiles
Look for ItemDisplayinfo.dbc
Open it and search for your item's name
When you find it at the far left in white will be an ID number write it down
Go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Create an account or log in
Make a peice of gear with your display number
Love me
You can do this exact same thing with game objects but Omgpwn got that down awhile back here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
