[Changing Client] Play on EU or US, with a US or EU client. (Switch between the 2) -
4 Weeks Ago
Another awesome post!
I was asked to powerlevel someone ealier, and he made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I learned afterwards that He was using an EU account and I am using a US client... We browsed through the files abit and R.I.P. Dodgeme pointed me to LocalConfig.xml So I looked into it.
As of July 19, here is what They both look. (EU and US) And I say As of July 19 because there is a Patch Version number at the bottom that changes every time there's a patch. I'll include it in this one, but DO NOT CHANGE THIS LINE (RED LINE) IN YOUR LocalConfig.xml OTHERWISE IT WILL SAY YOU HAVE A CORRUPTED VERSION!
US:

<UniverseVersion> 2 </UniverseVersion> <PatchVersion> x8069692616b46f787d6f5204192761c8 </PatchVersion>
EU:
<HttpPatchAddr> [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] </HttpPatchAddr>
<ClientHttpPatchAddr> [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] </ClientHttpPatchAddr>
<ControlHttpPatchAddr> [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] </ControlHttpPatchAddr>
<HttpPatchFolder> AoCLiveEU </HttpPatchFolder>
<UniverseAddr> aoc-eu-um.live.ageofconan.com:7000 </UniverseAddr>
<DevName> conan </DevName>
<UniverseVersion> 2 </UniverseVersion> <PatchVersion> x8069692616b46f787d6f5204192761c8 </PatchVersion>
Just copy paste all the info (exept PatchVersion - Leave your current Patchversion untouched, even if its not up to date, it'll get the patch from the patcher if you're missing something.) of the server you want to play on (US or EU) and paste it into your LocalConfig.XML (You can open it with Notepad)
There you go, you have it, US client playing EU server and vice versa!

Heh, figured I'd post about it, I had to look pretty hard to find it since it's against funcom's rules to modify these files.
It's not against the rules to edit Localconfig, we were encouraged to do it in the beta tests to get on different servers. If we werent supposed to get into it, it would simply be in an encrypted file.

Its against the rules to do it in WoW and its not encrypted. Your point?

Of course, that's the whole point of changing the servers you connect to, If you have to play on an account that is US, you need to have the US version of the file and an US account. and if you want to play on EU, you need to have the EU file and an EU account.
Its useful to check scammed accounts that are not in your area. Or to play someone else's account that is not in your area.
